Pretty Little Liars: The book review :)

Hi m'lovelies :) It's April! I can't believe it's only been a few months since I started this blog and I have just under 50 readers! I appreciate every single one of you :)

Anyway, as you may already know, I started a book blog but I haven't been posting on it much so I thought I would start posting book reviews on here instead :) I recently read Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard. I had heard of the TV series but never watched it, I was at my friends and she had the book so I borrowed it off her (thanks loretta!) and thought I would do a post on it. It was quite a good book :) Not as amazing as the hunger games which I have just read, nothing could beat that though! Haha.

The blurb says: "Everything has something to hide - especially high school juniors Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna. Spencer covets her sister's boyfriend. Aria's fantasizing about her English teacher. Emily has a crush on the new girl at school. And Hanna is using some ugly tricks to stay beautiful. But they've all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished. How do I know? Because I know everything about the bad girls they were and the naughty girls they are now. And guess what? I'm telling."

Now I thought the storylines were really good, kind of like gossip girl but different. Gossip girl is definitely not as scary as this series, the character who hides behind this storyline seems much more vicious than Gossip girl.  The book is shown from all the girls points of view so at first it is a bit hard to keep up but once you get into the book it shouldn't be a problem. Their appearance wasn't really described very well except Emily who is said to have had chlorined stripped red blonde hair about fifty times. I also found some of the characters a bit hard to relate to, like Spencer when she's all up in her sisters boyfriend? I think some people would like reading about that but it's just not my kind of thing.

I think the book was really good, I'm definitely intrigued to watch the TV series seen as it's got so many great reviews. I am hoping it will be better than the book, like The Vampire Diaries is, the books are ok but the TV series is amazing! I am undecided whether or not to buy the next book... maybe I will in the summer when I have time to read :D.

Book ratings:
Storyline: 4/5
Characters: 3/5
How hooked I was: 3/5

Overall: 3/5
Have you read any good books recently? Do you have any recommendations? Leave them in the comments so I can check them out in the summer after my exams :)

Hope you're all having a lovely day ! Sarah xxxxxxx
